The Thea Foss Waterway in Tacoma is the waterway closest to the center of the downtown core and has stood in total neglect for decades. The renovation that is currently beginning will clean up the waterway and provide pedestrian access to the waterway. The development will include museums, condominiums and store fronts, and is likely to become the cultural heart of the city. The Museum of Glass  is the first major project, and construction has just begun. You can see those photos here.
