When the 56 story 2 Union Square was built, they made
the claim of having the fastest elevators in the West! With it's 90 foot
flagpole on top, it rises 975 feet above sea level. Some of the steel used
in the project was tubular that was filled with concrete for added
stability, and it's said that if you lined up all the concrete trucks
bumper to bumper that it took to construct this building, they would
stretch from Seattle to Chicago.
